Department Description

The OR is a 6-bed unit plus a 3-bed endoscopy suite offering a full range of surgical and endoscopy procedures, including orthopedic, urology, plastics, gynecology, podiatry, ortho/spine, vascular, pain and general surgery. Our highly skilled team of healthcare professionals is dedicated to keeping our patients and their family healthy.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Registered Nurse Clinical Coordinator for Perioperative Services, which includes PAT, Pre-Op, PACU and Endo.

The Clinical Coordinator will demonstrate competency as a Clinical Coordinator by planning, organizing, and managing the personnel and resources in order to provide the highest quality care with trained, professional, and competent staff in the most cost effective and productive manner.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of the Perioperative Services unit

  • Demonstrates an advanced level of clinical skills and the ability to assist others to achieve quality care skills

  • Assigns patients to appropriate health practitioners

  • Schedules employee shifts and ensures admitting and discharge functions are providing for optimal patient flow

  • Supervision and management of staff, including training and development of a high quality team for care

  • Ensures that hospital resources are being used in the most efficient manner

  • Reports to the Director of Surgical Services

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Minimum of an Associate s Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited RN program. Bachelor s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred

  • Minimum 5 years of perioperative experience in a hospital operating room setting required

  • Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Texas, or a compact state

  • AHA approved BLS required upon hire. ACLS and PALS required within 90 days
