Community Health Systems Float Pool Registered Nurse (PRN Night Shift) in Cedar Park, Texas

Position Overview

This is a PRN position working 1-2 shiftsper week. The Float Pool RN will float within all units of the facility,including Med/Surg, Critical Care (ICU/PCU), Emergency Room, Surgical Services(OR, PACU, Pre-Op), Women's Services, Cath Lab, etc. Float pool nurses treat adiverse range of patients and is ideal for nurses who enjoy varietyand can adapt to changing circumstances and challenges.


  • Evaluates assigned patients and plans,implements and documents nursing care

  • Assists physicians during examinations andprocedures

  • Performs various patient tests andadministers medications within the scope of practice of the registered nurse

  • Promotes patients' independence byestablishing patient care goals and teaching patients and families to understandconditions, medications, and self-care skills

  • Relies on experience and judgment to planand accomplish goals

  • Performs a variety of tasks with a widedegree of creativity and latitude


  • Minimum of an Associate s Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited RN program. Bachelor s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred

  • Minimum 2 years of medical/surgical and telemetry experience AND experience in at least one of the following areas:

  • Intensive Care Unit / Progressive Care Unit (ICU/PCU)

  • Emergency Department (ED)

  • Pre-Op

  • Operating Room (OR)

  • Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)

  • Women s Services

  • Cath Lab

  • Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Texas

  • American Heart Association (AHA) approved Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications required within 90 days

  • Ability to be flexible and work autonomously a must
