SMG Housekeeping Supervisor, Full-Time $14-$15/Hour DOE in Cedar Park, Texas

The H-E-B Center at Cedar Park delivers fun, family entertainment including sports, concerts and family shows among other events, bringing energy, excitement, and new business to the Cedar Park, Austin and Central Texas area. H-E-B Center is home to the Texas Stars, AHL team of the Dallas Stars, and the Austin Spurs, NBA Development League team of the San Antonio Spurs.

The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for housekeeping staff supervision, equipment, product inventory, waste management and materials handling and third party labor relations among other related duties. Assists in overall housekeeping operations at H-E-B Cedar Park Center including all pre event, in event and post event cleaning of the interior and exterior of the facility. This position requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays when needed.

DUTIES:

  • The successful candidate will have 3 years housekeeping industry experience and 3 years in a management role with direct supervisory experience
  • Supervise full time employees including overnight post event cleaning staff
  • Assists Operations team in overseeing third party cleaning contract for administrative offices, team areas, and other contracted service work as it relates to housekeeping
  • Responsible for training part-time housekeeping staff including pre/post event housekeepers and crew leaders
  • Proactively communicate with all staff to assure a high morale and positive work environment
  • Partner with Operations Manager on scheduling to ensure deployments are prepared and filled according to event housekeeping needs
  • Partner with Operations Manager on staff performance management issues
  • Conduct regular quality control and building inspections to ensure cleaning standards are maintained at a high level and building remains in a clean and safe state
  • Assist Operations Manager with purchasing and inventory control of housekeeping equipment and supplies to ensure efficient and cost effective housekeeping services
  • Responsible for ongoing maintenance and care of all housekeeping equipment
  • Responsible for SDS sheets for all chemicals and products, ensuring they are up to date and in the correct locations
  • Continually and proactively looks for opportunities to improve the housekeeping operations, techniques and procedures while practicing sound fiscal management with a focus on customer service
  • Plans and executes off season summer projects and maintenance for the housekeeping department
  • Responsible for waste management/reduction programs at the H-E-B Cedar Park Center, assuring the compactor is functional and used in an efficient manner
  • Position requires the ability to stand, sit or walk for extended periods of time or for an entire shift; move, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects weighing less than 50lbs without assistance; reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling and stooping.

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The employee should also have the following qualifications:

Experience / Education:

  • Minimum of 3 year's experience in the housekeeping industry, preferably in a similar facility with thorough knowledge of current cleaning practices and equipment.
  • Minimum 3 year's experience in a Management role with direct supervisory experience

Skills and Abilities:

  • Spanish speaking a plus but not required

Physical Requirements:

  • Position requires the ability to stand, sit or walk for extended periods of time or for an entire shift; move, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects weighing less than 50lbs without assistance; reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling and stooping.
  • Position requires use of personal computer, phone and other office equipment.

Work Environment:

  • The noise level during events may be very loud, otherwise, the noise level should be mostly moderate.
  • This position will require working with cleaning chemicals and supplies and possible exposure to related fumes
