Job Description

KCI, A JMT Company, is seeking a highway design intern who will work closely with an experienced Design or Project Engineer to carry out an array of assigned tasks. Duties include, but are not limited to, assembling data and assisting with problem-solving requiring basic theories and engineering fundamentals; utilizing computer programs to solve engineering problems; assisting with layout and design of small, medium, and large-sized engineering projects, providing quantity take-offs and construction estimates, specification development or preparation, and maintaining accurate and current project documentation.

Required Experience

  • Full time student at the Junior, Senior or graduate level pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering or closely related major

  • Minimum one previous summer internship with a highway design firm required

  • Microstation Experience required

Working Conditions

Work is performed within a general office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.
