JobSummary–TheFinancialCounselorisresponsibleforreviewingtheFinancial

ClearanceWorklistdailyandvisitingin-housepatients;collectingestimatedpatientliabilityamounts;explainingallfinancialinformation,responsibilitiesandworkingcloselywithoutsideagenciestoensurepatient’sfinancialcoverage.

· FollowAIDETguidelinesinallinteractionswiththepatient

· Demonstratesexcellentcustomerservice

· InconjunctionwiththeMedicaidEligibilityStaffvisitalluninsuredpatientsin-house

· Provideestimatestopatientsand/orphysiciansasrequested

· Generateinsuranceverification andprecertificationreportsdailyandfollowupwithcasemanagementandinsuranceverificationdepartmentsasappropriate

· FollowsallguidelinessetforthintheCashHandlingpolicy.

· Utilizeseligibilitysystems,on-linewebsitesorphonecallstodetermineinsurancebenefitsandprecertificationrequirements

· Assistpatientswithpaymentarrangementsandinco-ordinationwiththeMedicaidEligibilityStaffassistspatientwithfinancialapplications

· Contactpatientemployer,ifnecessary,forverificationofemployment,premiumstatus,babiesbeingaddedtopolicies.

· EscalatesanyconcernsasneededtoPatientAccessManager/Supervisor

· EnterpertinentinsuranceinformationintotheHISsystem(i.e.Meditech)

· Entersappropriatenotesforallpatientencounters

· Maintainprofessionalimageandimplementexcellentcustomerservicetocustomers

· Completefinancialanalysisandcollectestimatedpatientliabilities

· Followupwithpatientsfornecessarysignaturesiftheywereincompleteattimeofhospitalization · Attendsin-servicepresentations,andcompletesmandatoryeducation,includingbutnotlimitedto,infectioncontrol,patientsafety,qualityimprovements,MSDSandOSHAstandards. · Demonstratesknowledgeofoccurrencereportingsystemandutilizessystemtoreportpotentialpatientsafetyissues.
