Supervisor, Central Sterile FT Nights

Job Description

The Supervisor, Central Sterile is responsible for supervision of staff and the distribution of supplies and equipment throughout the hospital. The Supervisor, Central Sterile ensures sterility of instrumentation by properly monitoring and recording the various sterilizers in the department. The Supervisor, Central Sterile works with Clinical Leaders and Purchasing regarding new items, as well as, current stock items. They will maintain records and reports of department activities.

The Supervisor, Central Sterile works with Clinical Leaders and other customers throughout the hospital in agreeable manner to solve stock and supply needs and other problems and for overseeing the packaging, labeling and sterilization of instruments and supplies used throughout the hospital. They will evaluate work flow and process, making changes when possible to improve operations.

The ideal candidate for the Supervisor, Central Sterile will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in Central Sterilization and Surgery, LVN or Certified Surgical Tech preferred. They will be certified as a CRCST thru IAHCSMM or CSPDT thru CBSPD, should have knowledge of medical supplies, instrumentation, and interworking of hospital, thorough knowledge of aseptic technique and knowledge of different types of sterilizers in Central Sterilization and how to monitor their effectiveness.
